This March when Culturae Mundi held their annual Middle Eastern Film Festival, they gave one student a chance to win ‘Dinner for Two’ at a local Turkish restaurant. Patrick Hollis winner of the dinner, attended the screening of A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, visited the restaurant and left a generous review recommending the place to fellow students. You can read his review below.
Sultan Restaurant Review
This Turkish restaurant is a great place to go for a nice, quiet and enjoyable meal. Situated on Far Gosford Street just past FarGo village it makes for a perfect evening location.
The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with authentic Turkish colours and pictures which make it a pleasant environment to eat. I found that the atmosphere within the building was very calm and it made for a very enjoyable first visit.
We were greeted with warm smiles on our arrival and a starter of fresh bread with spices and hummus dip soon followed. In fact we had to ask for more of the bread as it went down so well.
This was later accompanied with fresh salad which I felt was a very tasty beginning to our meal. The main meal was one of the three Sultan Specials which consisted of two types of chicken, two types of lamb and Adana. The meats were cooked to perfection and the rice it was served upon was very tasty.
Everything about the meal and the restaurant itself was enjoyable. I can’t recommend the Sultan restaurant enough and I can safely say that I will be making another visit. I’d like to thank the staff at the Sultan restaurant for a very nice evening and a pleasant experience.
